The Club was founded in 1997 and has been organising skiing holidays for the over 50's for over 2 decades.
We have a nationwide membership of about 170 and currently run six ski holidays every season for active and retired persons over the age of 50 who enjoy skiing together.
Holidays are advertised to the membership early in the year and places get filled quickly, although cancellations can occur at any time. If you are interested in joining any of the holidays please contact us with a view to becoming a member, so that we can send you full details as soon as possible.
The ski club is run by a committee of volunteers who meet several times a year to plan a programme. The holidays are either in a hotel or a catered chalet. Holidays are variously arranged for France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Spain.
The Club welcomes new members, so if you are of our age group and have enjoyed skiing and are now unable or unwilling to do so on your own, then we invite you to give us a try.
ARP050 do not have the facility to teach or instruct anyone to ski or
snowboard, therefore all members must have a base level of ability before joining the club. We
ask that all members are able to control their speed and direction and be able to use the lifts.
There are facilities across the UK, and ski schools abroad that can provide instruction to this
level.
All members will be asked to indicate their skiing level preferences on the Ski Questionnaire form which accompanies the holiday booking form. Although we do try our best to accommodate everyone, members should be aware that it cannot be guaranteed that any holiday run by the club is able to accommodate enough groups at levels to suit particular individual needs or preferences.
If any member skis or behaves in such a way as to cause danger to themselves or others, then they may be excluded from participation in any club activities, and membership may be withdrawn.
To help applicants decide whether this club is right for them, it may be useful to know that the majority of our members can ski at red run level. Not all members will choose to ski at this level on each holiday, but we feel this could be a good indication for new enquiries.
